Via Jaeden Lassiter
Jaeden Lassiter is a 21 year old, east coast based designer, musician and art curator. So young into his designing career his “style” has no definition, instead opting to act as a sponge infusing and mixing multiple. Jaeden likes to view clothing and fashion as a form of alchemy…
A mix of passion, ideas, and reference points used to bring a garment to life in magical or mysterious ways.
Commission Work
Doing commission work for others has offered me a another platform to explore my creativity, gain some valuable experience, and build a strong professional network. By striking a balance between my own artistic expression and client needs, I can hopefully establish a successful career working within a team in the design industry.
My most recent piece in particular was made at the request of a longtime friend and photographer. He approached me with the idea to make a shirt, in the style of a Rick Owens or Boris Bidjan, for a photo shoot and I was immediately intrigued.
In the end his fabric of choice was a airy Italian viscose, too weak to be sewn with a regular machine. This requiring me to use an over-locking machine to fully construct the garment simultaneously providing it with much needed strength for multiple wears.
Handcrafted Holdalls
Bulging pockets are a sure way to mess up a good ‘fit, something I've always tried to avoid. This led me to create holdalls, where I can merge simplicity and style with my passion for upcycling. For me, these bags are more than just accessories—they're a personal testament to my belief in aesthetic elegance, practical minimalism, and sustainable living.
This tote was comprised of 3x3 inch squares made from a pair of mom jeans and old slacks i used to wear to work
(washed of course)
For this i decided to give a Louis Vuitton dust bag the “Pinocchio” treatment and turn it into this minimalist tote
This cross-body bag was brought back to life from a pair of thrifted cargo pants
complete with hidden button front pocket
This Tsuno knot was made as a companion piece for a two toned oversized sleeve hoodie
both came out great
Mom jean tote 2.0?? This time playing around with branding and stencils
sharpie ink surprisingly gives a nice simple dyed look on the denim
BENICE THE PROJECT
/ ben-IH-shay /
BENICE, a play on the phrase “be nice”, which are words I think we could all put into action more often. Not only is it a strong belief of mine, as a project my goal is building a brand geared toward the production of new ideas. I want to execute, to the best of my abilities, bringing the creativity inside of an idea to the physical world.
When you put on BENICE clothing I want you to 100% feel comfortable, but more than that I want you to carry yourself with the confidence of someone who knows they look nice.
Because when you look nice, you feel nice, and when you feel nice it’s pretty hard not to BENICE.
